Lady Speed Stick® Women’s Half Marathon Series - Nashville, TN

Nashville, TN - (September 3, 2010) - The deadline for participants in the Women's Running Magazine Women's Half Marathon and the Women's Running Magazine 5k to receive a personalized bib when they register is Sunday, September 5, 2010. A trademark feature of The Women's Half Marathon is a bib with the participants' names in big, bold letters over a smaller race number. Only those who register by September 5, 2010 will receive this privilege.

"Our bib design allows runners to be better recognized and cheered on by spectators along the course. Instead of hearing ' Go number 2547!' as they pass by, our runners and walkers hear 'Go Sally' or 'Go Martina,' which is a huge boost, especially later in the race." says event founder Dawna Stone.

Starting and finishing in front of the Country Music Hall of Fame, the scenic, walker-friendly course showcases Nashville at its finest. Runners get to experience many of Music City's key attractions - Centennial Park, Belmont Boulevard, Music Row, Broadway, and the Cumberland River. The race will finish with an unforgettable street party in downtown Nashville.

According to Stone, "The goal of the event is to provide a fun, non-intimidating environment, especially for first-time runners and walkers. Having bibs with each participant's name is part of our effort to encourage women to use the half marathon or 5k as a stepping stone to a more active, healthier and happy life."

The Women's Half Marathon also features a patent-pending two-in-one finisher's medal and charm, designer goodie bag and technical race shirt. 5k finishers receive a medal, designer goodie bag and t-shirt. All participants, as well as the general public, get to enjoy a two-day women's specific expo at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel.
